With reference to the image below and answer the following questions:

Digital Media
1.) Define the term ‘digital media’.

Refers to any type of information in digital format including computer-generated text, graphics and animations, as well as photographs, animation etc…
2.) How has digital media evolved over the last 5-10 years?

In the last 10 years, there have been a large amount of new softwares to have your work look cool or formal. If you go back 10 years, there wouldnt be too many oppurnities to have your work done the way is should be. 10 years ago everyone would be using powerpoint for anykind of presentation, which was very hard because some people had nothing to do with images and text, they could of only want video’s, but you cant put videos on a powerpoint, so now they have designed movie maker, imovie etc..

3.) Discuss the reasons why digital newspapers are extremely popular?

Digital newspapers are popular for many reasons like:

1. You can access the articale any time you like to.

2. It saves you driving to the local newsagency and wasting your time, you can do something more important.

3. It will save you $2.50

4. It increases your digital skills.

5. Encourages people to look at the articales.

6. Informs people earlier news and local news.

1. How is the research going?

My research is going very well, everybody has done their part of their research. Now we are able to make our imovie video.

2. What do you know about imovie? What other multimedia possibilities have you considered for your presentation?

In my CST/IST project 1, i was in charge of making an imovie, so here is what i know about it so far.

In an imovie, you can add videos, text, animations, and audio. I no everyother multimedia presentations have this, but the imovie has more cool stuff.

There are other multimedia possibilities like powerpoint, and moviemaker.

1.) Watch the following clip:

Scenario 1: You are on a train coming home from a day at the beach. The train stops at a station and a group a youths get on the train and start bashing an elderly ethnic man. You notice people getting off the train.

If i was in this situation, what i would do is call the security and explain whats happening so i can getb help quickly.
Discuss what you would do in this situation.

Scenario 2: You get a message from a girl that you are interested asking you to come over her house. When you get there a number of her friends are present and they say they are bored. One of them promotes the idea of going for a walk and causing a riot. At first you tell them “No way”. However, the girl you like states that “she will like you more if you go”.

If a girl said that to me i would really just leave her because obviously shes not interested in me. if they are going to start a riot, even if i dont come, i will call for help and persuade them not to and tell them the serious consquences.

Discuss what you would do in this situation.

Describe how a persons conscience works in making moral decisions. Explain the relationship between religion and conscience.

A conscience is a feeling of shame before you do something immoral, “he has no conscience about his cruelty”.

Religion is a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny; “he lost his faith but not his morality”

When your about to do something wrong and you know you are doing the wrong thing, a little thought springs into your mind and stops or trys to stop you from the the wrong thing.

1.) Define the term “Moral Maturity”

In my own words, i believe that moral maturity is how you react to something ordinary, what will you do. The choice that you pick to do depends on how mature you are. An example to depend on how mature you are is that pretend you are on a train coming home from a day at the beach. The trains stops at a station and a group of youths get on the train and start bashing an elderly ethnic man.You notice people getting off the train. What would you do in this situation. The higher your level you are shows that your maturity is good. But if its a low level it means your maturity is poor.

2.) Read the following article:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/knife-arrest-cop-pelted/2008/03/24/1206206967590.html

Discuss the reasons why the 25 year old man mentioned in the article would be regarded as having a lack of ‘moral maturity’. The reasons that the 25 year old man has a lack of moral maturity is because:

When a police spokeswomen caught the man and the m an replied with a spit. This shows a lack of moral maturity because it is diffently not respectful to spit on someone, especially a woman.

The man also has a lack of maturity because of stabbing someone, a man who will do this wouldnt be even on the moral maturity list. To fight back at the police officers, makes himself even worse. There is no other word to describe this but a low act.

3.) Identify the differences between ‘morality’ and ‘immorality’.

Morality is the concern with the distinction between good and evil or right and wrong; right or good conduct.

Morality refers to the concept of human ethics which pertains to matters of right and wrong — also referred to as “good and evil” — used within three contexts: individual conscience; systems of principles and judgments

Immorality is the quality of not being in accord with standards of right or good conduct.

It is evil: morally objectionable behavior

4.) Watch the following clip and describe the reasons why Governor Spitzer’s actions would be regarded as ‘immoral’.

Governor Spitzer’s show immoral maturity because of doing the wrong things, he doesnt realsise the consequences, in this situation there are plenty of consequences. Firstly, he can loose a loving family very quickly. Secondly, he can be in some serious trouble. Thirdly, he can loose all his money, and then all these consequences can and did in this situation cost you your life.

 Banned

The picture above have 4 main pictures/symbols, and each symbol has a meaning. The 4 symbols on the picture above are the:

  • Chinese flag

  • Word that says “Banned”
  • Youtube

I believe that the Chinese flag in the backgroung is trying to show us the message is about the country China.

The writing “banned in the middle of the picture is telling us that China banned something bad.

The youtube writing is showing us that the internet could possibly banned because of youtube.

The chinese person on the bottom right hand corner of the picture is telling us that or the chinese country to calm down, saying its not the end of the world.

4.) Discuss how you would feel if the Australian government banned the Internet. What privileges would you lose? (2 Paragraphs)

My prevliages are msn, it allows me talk to my mates , this is a huge previllage because some of my mates i see once in a blue moon, so it allows me to catch up with their lives. Also when i need information i hop onto the internet and research about my topic. Of course i go through heaps of false information each day, but there is also true information on what i need to learn.

Nearly everytime we go on a trip to a place, we hop on the internet and type in the destination and it has a map that leads you there, this is a huge previllage for the whole family.

Because i play cricket on the weekends and i dont know whether or not i made the semi-finals, i check on the internet, this could be one of my previilages. Another previllage i could loose from the internet is live scores from any sport game, if i need to know who won in the football i can go on the internewt and check out live scoeres and updates.
