Fibre optic technology offers many advantages when used in medical applications.
A) Describe how optical fibre may be used in medical applications
The principle of the optic fiber was used for internal medical examinations by Heinrich Lamm.
Fibers can be used in illumination applications. They are used as light guides in medical and other applications where bright light needs to be shone on a target.
Medical endoscopes are used for minimally invasive exploratory or surgical procedures.
B) Identify the traditional medical techniques that optical fibres might replace
Optical fibres are replaced with pills that have cameras installed, then the patient can swallow, put this process is very dangerous. Now doctors use optical fibres for medical techniques, and it has come in handy.
C)Evaluate the benefits of fibre optic technology to medicine
Fibre Optics technology to medicine have benefits because:
· Reduces the amount of unnecessary surgeries. This is because they can study the source more correctly.
· Helps the doctors to research more on the interior of the body.
