A search that began on Saturday covered up to 200 square kilometres of desert before 52-year-old Theo Rosmolder was found shortly before 11am today (WST) north of Laverton.

Mr Rosmolder and five others, including his wife, were looking for gold 130km north of Laverton on Friday near the Sweet Nell mine.

The area is thick with mine shafts and open pits and surrounded by light to heavy scrub, police say.

Mr Rosmolder was believed to have been without food or water.

The search involved two fixed wing aircraft and about 30 people using four-wheel drives and motorbikes.

A police spokesman said medics were on their way to assess Mr Rosmolder’s health and administer first aid if required.

BHP had suspended all rail and port operations at the centre until further notice, the resources giant said in a statement.

The 52-year-old Port Hedland man was conducting maintenance work on the scissor lift when it fell on him at 11am (WST) Tuesday, police said.

WorkSafe WA is investigating and BHP is conducting an internal investigation into the matter.

BHP said the man’s next of kin had not yet been notified.

1.      Describe TWO things that you have learnt during this lesson.

The two things that I have learnt in the lesson are that the media doesn’t always tell the truth, they make things untrue stories because they have no true stories to tell, that forces them to lie and manipulate previous stories.

I realise in some occasions, news reporters present their words from the company’s view copy the words of other company’s view, they sometime copy word for word.

2. Identify TWO areas you want to concentrate on during this project that you think need a greater improvement from the last project.

An area I would like to concentrate on is more team work and I also need to support team members and offer them help.

Also not to get distracted by other groups, especially in this project because of cool technology like cameras.

3. Discuss TWO ways in which your group could resolve any disputes during this process. 

 

 

 

1 way is to refer to your contract and see what your group says.

 

Another way is to let them have their say before you start arguing, and then at the end, you could have a final decision.

These are the future predictions for our universe

Open Universe

If the universe has a very low mass, it will keep on expanding forever but on a decreasing rate. Eventually the stars and galaxies will shine, and the universe will be very dark and cold.

Flat Universe

The flat universe will eventually stop expanding, but will never reverse.

 

Closed Universe

If our universe has a very high mass, expansion will eventually stop. Gravitational attraction will pull all objects to the centre of the Earth. The universe will become a smaller and smaller place. All the objects in the middle of Earth will superheat and atoms would break up in a reversal of the big bang. Black holes would join together and it will suck in a lot of matter until a result of the “big crunch” packed everything to a single gigantic black hole. Then maybe in the future, there could be another big bang and the cycle would continue.

The Doppler Effect is an effect of sound waves, if an ambulance is driving past you at a fast paste, and you are position in front of the ambulance the siren is louder from position A (front) then position B (behind) at the same distances.

 

Below there is an image of the Doppler Effect and the blue and red shifts. The blue shift means that you can hear the siren louder, and the red shift means that you cannot hear the siren as loud as Position A (Blue shift), even when point A, and point B have the same distance between them and the ambulance.

 

The big bang theory states that the universe in all directions from a single point containing a huge and incredibly concentrated amount of energy. At the instant of creation, the universe must have been incredibly hot, with energy being converted to matter and antimatter.

The first few minutes

1. State how old the universe is thought to be.

The age of the universe is thought to be approxiametntly 14 million years ago.

2. Identify the time when the young universe suddenly inflated.

Initially the universe expanded relatively slowly, then, within a fraction of a second, inflated suddenly to become 100 million billion billion time larger.

3. Matter and antimatter didn’t totally destroy each other after the big bang. Explain why it is lucky that this didn’t occur.

Because Earth was so hot, the energy turned into antimatter and matter

4. Identify what particles grouped into 3’s to form protons and neutrons.

I don’t understand this Question

5. A) State the proportion of hydrogen in the universe.

The proportion of hydrogen is 77%.

B) Explain why hydrogen is the most common element.

Because in water, the element hydrogen is in it, and water is very common.

6. Describe what a hydrogen nucleus.

I don’t understand this Question

The Fog clears

7. Explain why the early universe was opaque.

Because of the containing energy in the form of radiation such as X- Rays and light.

8. Describe the effect on the ‘fog’ of the continuing expansion of the universe.

The expansion of the universe dropped its temperature to 3000 degrees C.

 

Afterglow

 

9. Penzias and Wilson detected evidence for the big bang. Clarify the evidence they

collected.

 

They went out to detect radio waves coming from the halo of our Milky Way galaxy. One of the evidence was the afterglow of the creation of the universe.

 

 

 

10. State what the acronym COBE stands for.

 

The acronym COBE stands for Cosmic Background Explorer

 

Galaxies, Stars and Planets

 

11. Explain how galaxies and stars are formed.

 

They are formed by swirling clouds of gas that compacted to form the first galaxies, stars and planets.

 

12. Explain how ‘baby planets’ become bigger.

 

Rings of dusts and gas orbiting stars may condense to form younger planetsor planetsimals, which in turn attract more matter and increase in size to form planets.

 

The future

 

13. Outline the 4 main theories about the future of universe

 

The four main theories of the universe are:

 

  • Open universe

 

  • Closed universe

 

  • Flat universe

 

  • Accelerating universe

 

14. Evaluate which theory you think is most likely to represent our future.

 

I believe that the future will eventually turn into the Open universe theory.

1. Has your image of Jesus changed during the project? How or Why not?

No it hasnt, this is because i am aware that others have their own view on what Jesus looks like. My view of Jaesus is different to others, it doesnt mean that i have to copy them just because im doing the project wrong. This is why i keep my originakl image bcause it is my original view and still is my view of Jeesus.

2. What do you feel is the best way to portray an image of Jesus and why?

I feel that the best way to portray an image is to get other views of images of jesus by other people, so you no what you are doing. I believe it is the best way because it expresses your feelings and beliefs in a better way then other ways, becauise you are taking other peoples ideas.

3. What have you enjoyed about the project so far and what would you do differently?

Nothing really yet, but i am excited to edit pictures of Jesus on photoshop, and i am also excited on presenting our groups art exhibition.

1) What form of medium (music, art or literature) allows you to best connect with Jesus and Why

 

Art, because it ables myself to express my feelings and beliefs about Jesus, it has a deeper meaning.

2) Why has Jesus been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history?

Everybody has their own belief about Jesus, it could be anyone. So many people have portrayed him differently then most people would because that is their own belief of who Jesus really is. Jesus can remind you of someone you know, and if people start portraying Jesus’ looks of their own belief, then there will be different ways to portray him.


3) How is Jesus portrayed at Parramatta Marist?

Jesus is portrayed as saint m\Marcellin Champagnat, because this is what the Marist community believes Jesus was like.


4) What artistic time period do you think best represents your image of Jesus and why?

I believe that the time period which best represents my image would probably be the early church because that was the time from 100AD-500AD, which means that the people would have just been realising what Jesus really done fore us 200 years ago, so people had a deeper meaning to a image. So my image would fit into theirs, because as a kid im still realising what he done for us (sacrificing).


5) Identify one image of Jesus that appeals to you. What do you like about the representation?

This is an image that caught my eyes when I first saw it because it shows not only Jesus’ appearance, but his thought, care, and love for others.

6) What factors currently shape your image of Jesus and why.

 

The factors in this picture are the animal in his safe, gentle and harmless arms, the spotlight above his head, showing the people that this man is very special and powerful (in a nice way). His white clothes, representing peace and love.

1) What words and or images come to mind when you hear the word Jesus.

 

When the words cross, church, Easter and Christmas are called out; Jesus will come to my mind. When I see the images such as a cross, church, Thorns

2) Why might it be important for young people to identify with an image of Jesus?

 

It is good for young children because it lets them understand more about Jesus then they would of before.

3) Where in your life do you most associate with images of Jesus?

 

I mostly associate an image of Jesus at school, especially in catholic studies classes and prayers.

1. List TWO problems that could occur from students selecting their own groups.

 No knowledge in group because it’s the leader’s friends. 1 person could probably be a very smart person and the rest are average; the group could force the smart boy to do all the work.

2. Which type of student do you think would be selected first?

The smartest people of the class, or the boy’s best friend

 

3. Why do you think they were selected first?

 

Because they are very smart and help them do all the work, because they are the best friend, and if they don’t choose them, you and the boy will fell down


4. Which type of student do you think will be selected last?
 

The student selected last will probably be the quiet and less smarter than others.

5. What beneficial characteristics can you offer to your group?

 The beneficial characteristics are:
